“Bluey”

It always surprises me how a series of events can lead one’s mind to delve into the most unexpected places, something totally unrelated to one’s present life.

The experience of a tumultuous few months left me feeling quite “at sea” and I had to, yet again, recalibrate. This series of events took me down the “rabbit hole” and in doing so, forced me to delve into times long forgotten.

“Bluey” is how I now see the world in the winter of my life, the name, as the word suggests is not about a colour, nor a particular emotion, but it is a celebration of the human experience.

Twists and turns; loves and losses, influences from music, places, events, fleeting memories that have been instrumental not only shaping my creative expression, but a narrative brought to life through vibrant colour and an exploration of inner strength.

Color is my language; through bold strokes and rich hues, shade and texture is a reflection of the stories I carry within. It’s about finding beauty and power in vulnerability.

I invite the viewer to see beyond the surface of each painting, to connect with the power, both emotional and spiritual, that resides in us all.
